People - My Story

Morwenna

I was brought up in a charismatic house church in the 80s which has probably had a fairly major impact on my life; I rememWennaber giving my life to Jesus in the kitchen when I was 5 years old and all I knew was that I was ‘asking Jesus to come into my heart’.

12 years old was the real turning point when I couldn’t get my head round God and the Bible and I learnt that this is where faith comes in. Doing Biblical Studies at university was another leap in this direction – when your head knowledge about God is challenged over and over until it is mush you have to believe that God is bigger than the questions and you can just keep asking them!

I probably had the same doubts and frustrations as most Christian teenagers but I feel like my most challenging time has been in the last 10 years when I’ve really learnt to engage with ‘the real world’ and translate Jesus into this. I don’t have any of the answers but I love to be on the fine line between God’s kingdom and the world we live in. I think that’s what God’s really interested in and where I as a Christian am most useful and most alive. I’m really passionate about the things that are important to God like fairness, compassion, love, community and I love being on a journey with him – it gives my life meaning, purpose and hope!
