Welcome to the Eccles!
My journey of following Jesus
began largely through the Eccles in 2004. I spent my early years in
traditional churches with my parents, but somehow never believed in
God. However the first time I ‘saw’ God was through the way he was
working and shining in the lives of a motley group of people who mostly
would meet at ‘The Eccles’. My desire was to know
who this Jesus was that they said was the priority in their lives.
Eventually I discovered Jesus for myself and His love he had for me and
He became number one in my life too.
The Eccles is
basically a bunch of ordinary people with (lots of) ordinary issues who
are passionate about being made whole through Jesus, loving and serving
God, each other and the people around them.
We meet
together in a hall on Sunday afternoons and in smaller groups through
the week. However it is through our day to day lives our faith is
expressed, any meetings are only as good as they enable us to do that!
The meetings are fun, interactive and unpredictable! We do nothing
because we think ‘we should’. If it doesn’t bring life, we’re not
interested. That’s right, I look forward to church.
We’re
encouraged to be ourselves-accepted for who we are, enabling the mess
in our lives to be in the open enough to be dealt with. This enables us
to work towards the freedom Jesus offers and to be closer to Him and
each other. Only out of an intimate relationship with Jesus and each
other can we walk obediently with Him in our daily lives, praying and
working towards seeing God’s Kingdom on earth.

Our next Sunday meeting will be on 5th February at
